pook is a good squad player in a position where injuries are frequent,
he is yet to reach his full potential i think.also i am pretty sure his wages would be one of the lowest in the first team.
monkhouse is older and injury prone, he plays a postion where we have 2 better options.he is a decent squad player too but i suspect he costs more in wages, and as money is tight would be one i'd do without.

Sheringham plays in the Premiership for starters and Ashan obviously doesnt

I don't think age is the issue, Jack Smith is better than Vincent is it cos he's younger?  How does it work that Williams is our best defender (IMHO) and the oldest in the team?

Pook is OK but replaceable, frankly if Sturrock wants rid of all the team and 11 new players let him do it, he knows what he wants and I think he'll get results.  IMHO Monky could do a very good job for us here, but if Luggy wants rid (or not) then its his call.  So far he's promoted Lukas to the starting 11 and brought in Zaboub and Timlin so his judgement is looking good so far.

Different positions mean you need different qualities, to play in the middle of the park you need a good engine....you need to be mobile....can Whalley still cover all areas of the pitch, can he heck!

Williams, is different...when was the last time he spent as much time out injured as Whalley? Williams has continually been playing football for years, his body hasnt given up on him yet

Pook is one of the worst players I have ever seen play for town. The sooner he goes the better. The game just passes him by. He has no awareness, can't tackle and just runs around alot. When he does get the ball he just looks for an easy square ball which usually ends up with an opposition player. Chippenham would love him.
