He's just not defensive enough.....

2-0 against Wycombe became 2-1 and he was still the furthest man up the field when Wycombe were attacking.

That's why Shakes came one - he was prepared to track back and tackle from the wing position.

Roberts hung around up front like a school boy where everyone is a striker and no-one a defender.

He needs to learn to be defensive as a winger as well or he better off at Gray's with Kingy than use to us...
If thats how sturrock wants his team to play he would stick with shakes out on the wing as he is better defending than attack, sturrock has said he wants his full backs to defend and his wingers to attack

I still think Roberts should be played up front...

I dont, certainly as macca said while we dont have a right winger.

Plus I think Jutkiewicz and Peacock are capable of getting goals in a more get wide and cross orientated team

Plus its very rare Roberts gets on the end of a cross, even when he is up front he usually ends up in the channels

that last few games, he played with Jutkiewicz who is also capable of holding the ball up or winning flick ones, where as Roberts isnt.

This means Peacock doesnt always have to be the one to drop deep and go looking for the ball, he can play off Jutkiewicz and vice versa....

Having Timlin in the middle has also helped, because he knows how to get the ball down and pass it, he's one of the best ball players I've seen in a long time.

Also Peacock is always going to be more dangerous if we crossed it in for him rather than lumping it towards him...

I think Peacock is now more suited to our style of play.

but since Roberts has been out there on the wing Jutkiewicz has scored 3 and Peacock has scored 2....so thats 5 goals from the front pairing in that couple of games, so its not as if we arent scoring goals with Roberts out wide.

Peacock has scored more from open play than Roberts anyway

how many right wingers are there about in this division that are actually better than Roberts on the right? not many.

Pace, skill and good crossing with either foot

Roberts has the attributes of winger, more so than a striker....so we might as well use him on the wing because he's a bloody talented winger whether he likes it or not!
