For starters, if these crooks move us to chippenham I'll never go to another Town match again. (BTW I live in Bath now so it'd be closer to get to but that isn't the point is it)
Secondly, I was shocked this morning to have my morning slumber rudely interrupted by the words "Mike Diamandis" being piped into the room and that was enough to wake me up instantly. A sobering experience.
It was far from a pleasant feeling having the first noise I conciously heard this morning being Diamandis' voice, and when I heard the fuller interview at about eight it was about as enlightening as you'd expect from someone who has made a living for the last five years by keeping his head well and truly down.
My Thoughts though:
(a) Now Sir Seton's Advisor (or STFC General Manager to give him his new title

) is 'out in the open' means he has set a precedent that he must surely keep, no more lurking in the shadows for you now Mr Diamandis, which up until now has been your number one weapon of defence.
Take the anonymity away, I believe he loses his entire modus operandi and has to play by the same rules as everyone else, start taking some responsibility and giving some answers. This can surely only work against him. What I'm trying to say is by finally breaking cover this morning, he has inadvertantly declared himself as accountable as the rest of the board.
(b) I think this shows how desperate the board and Newbury are getting now. This seems to me like a final throw of the dice in many ways. I think the show of Orange on Saturday has rocked the boat, coupled with some fantastic work by the Trust on some sound, sensible, realistic stadium proposals, Diamandis has begun to feel his grip on OUR club loosen. To the extent that he has had to fight back personally.
(c) In my opinion they aren't interested and have never been interested in any ground redevelopment that doesn't mean mass housing and therefore mass profits. They've chucked in J17 as if its a last alternative option this morning but I would say thats probably their first choice venue given SBC are unwilling to give away £25m worth of land (boo hiss to them naturally  ).
(d) The Entrepreneurial Investor. Top one thousand in the country no less. There might be an investor, there might not be. Given that in the last five years the only serious investment Diamandis has bought to the club (which is his job, cos Sandy said so) has come in the form of loans from his boss, I would be slightly erring on the side of "I bet there isn't any sign of an investor you cheeky cunt what the fuck do you take us for". But what do I know I'm merely a fan.
I also like the way Diamandis said, "we won't know until after christmas now, January 3rd or 4th maybe" presumably so he can at least relax and enjoy his christmas. Well you make sure you enjoy it pal, it'll be your last Christmas at our club.
He also cleverly managed to somehow avoid answering his own question by stating that "the football trust haven't even asked us what we want to leave yet" then when Hodgetts asked how much, he sort of went off in a trail of vague platitudes and spin culminating in sort of saying that SSW might sort of sell to someone he kind of likes for lower than to someone he sort of doesn't like. So how much?
This is the time more than ever to keep the pressure on. They are feeling it, and they don't like it, it is working. To quote one red nosed scotsman, its squeaky bum time. These lot must go, and the fans' consortium is the only way forwards now for the club we all love. And WE are the ones who matter.
POWER TO THE ORANGE REVOLUTION!!
