hence, you get an overdraft. not an overdraft and a bit extra at the banks expense.

it's like saying i couldn't be arsed to buy a parking ticket but why should i get the fine? err, because it's the law and on your contract in balck and white?

It's also the law that bank charges should represent a fair penalty (a proportion of the amount for example). It's often that they are not and so this is the issue. It isn't that people have gone over their limits as such.

you're the accountant and i agree.

it's when people so blow money they don't have that annoys me, and thats my point. i can ahrdly afford to keep myself going and then people like me end up copping it for spendthrifts.

surely you can understand that?

I'm going to have a bash at this. Pretty careful with money so only about £100 for me.

My mum though is owed about £500 and my dad £700 so I'm going to start the process with them.

i'd wager i do somehow  Cheesy

interest rates fuck me on both my savings and my rent but i'm sure thats so the banks make sure they make their dough back off overspenders

a two year head start during which i was ill, yeah.

the crux of the issue is that the banks charge a fixed amount whether you go 10p over drawn or £100, the law states that they're only supposed charge an amount which covers their costs.
