STFC Press Release We have read with interest Bill Power's article in yesterday's Swindon Advertiser and we have heard his comments on BBC Radio Swindon this morning. Contrary to the impression that may have been given, the Wills family have not received any offer for the Club from Bill and his colleagues. Sir Seton has written to Phil Emmel requesting a detailed proposal but so far there has been no response. We have recently received approaches from two further groups of potential investors and should Bill decide to make a firm offer for the Club, it will be considered on its merits, alongside the other bids which are at a more advanced stage. We are disappointed that, unlike the other interested parties, Bill has chosen to express his interest through the media when he already has a substantial stake in the Club and could have discussed his thoughts with Sir Seton at anytime. Dealing with these matters in the public eye is distracting and potentially damaging to the well being of the Club. It should be recognised that the Club has received interest from various investment groups over the years but none of these have developed into firm acceptable bids that the Wills family have regarded as being in the best interests of the Club. The current Board will therefore not relax but continue to develop and deliver its 5-year plan, which already incorporates Bill Power's philosophies of teamwork and inclusivity. The objective is to bring Championship football and financial stability to The County Ground within the life of the plan. An excellent relationship has already been established between the Board and the first team manager, Paul Sturrock, with everyone involved at the Club absolutely determined to work together and deliver success on and off the field. The Club is also able to announce the following appointments: Mike Bowden, a former Director at NPower is to join the Board with immediate effect. He will have special responsibility for the new stadium development and associated commercial relationships. He will also undertake the role of Joint Chairman Designate. Boyd Butler, former Sales and Marketing Manager at Reading Football Club for over 8 years is to work at The County Ground on a consultancy basis with the brief to improve off field revenues. Bob Holt has rejoined the Board to contribute his wealth of media and general management experience to the planned progression of the Club. Current Chairman Willie Carson said: "These appointments represent powerful additions to the management team and underline the Board's determination to take the Club forward in a positive manner." http://www.swindontownfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10341~940577,00.html

Five-year plan? Is this building on the stagnation and decline of the past 5 years then?
Certainly looks like they don't intend to accept Bill with open arms does it?
Still, at least we've had another statement - that's good, I don't think we've had enough statements recently

Erm, bear in mind this is coming from the same people who brought you "More money than you can shake a stick at", "No problem with the VAT payment" and "Of course we've paid the CVA"- my guess would be Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

So how far are they along with their '5 year plan'?
Championship football?
So far they've assisted us into League 2!!!
Stadium development? When was the last time anyone heard the club give any positive news on that front?
Bob Holt's back? Fucking hell, sounding more and more like the Government: Do nothing, spout shit and if you fuck up, we'll sack you, then reinstate you within a few weeks.
If this is supposed to appease fans in anyway, it doesn't (Well, not me anyway).
Another two 'firm' offers?
Do me a fucking favour.....................

Probably just trying to push the price up.
You're interested in my car?? Funny two other people have just come to view it, they seemed very interested by the way.
And what about the return of Bob Holt eh?

The cynicism of fans on here is frankly shocking - don't you know the board have only the best interests of the club at heart and have never been anything other than open and transparent with fans at all times? I'm appalled by you all

Bob made it clear in an "off the record" chat with Gazza after the AGM that he would be back.
The sheer presence of him sat at the top table at the AGM depicts that fact

, with everyone involved at the Club absolutely determined to work together and deliver success on and off the field Don't include the fans in this Newbury, as far as the fans go you're on borrowed time. Very few if any believe anything you have to say and have no confidence in your actions..... Bob Holt back

Pure lies and I dont believe a word.
I find it very odd that for years and years we cant find ANY investors, then when it goes public there is a fans consortium suddenly there are a couple of other interested parties. This coming days after we were told Wills doesnt want to sell, but hes talking to 3 or more sets of investors.
Just like after Power left and before the AGM James Wills was in advanced talks with a potential investor. He got re-elected and we didnt here anything more about it.
I hope these other investors arent American
Dont believe a word our board says and the sooner they fuck off the better....
