i think Graham Thorpe made a decent point this week. why play Giles on his batting strengh when he hasn't batted that great and he hasn't bowled that well either? why not just play a batsman instead. there is the option of dropping Anderson for Mahmood who can bat a bit and can bat at 8. that leaves space for Monty then. i think Monty will play the next test. too much pressure on Fletcher to include him

good shout rich, bring in another batsman and put flintoff at number 7 (cos he's looking a bit of a liability at 6!)

To be fair a number of sources suggested Fletcher wanted Monty, but Flintoff wanted Gilo...

with dave here, reg's sources are shot away
giles has been by the least of our worries, surely the question is why not anyone else with two arms and two legs instead of jimmy whos played no cricket in the last year

anderson bowled well today. 3-47 against Western Australia. Panesar got 1 wicket but apprently he bowled quite well and actually turned the ball unlike Giles
