Well, to summarise:

We were totally fucking awful.
We got a lucky (and somewhat controversial) penalty.
The result is all that matters.
Phil Smith deserves a lot of credit. Thank fuck somebody bothered to turn up.

Yup....  We're in the third round for the first time in a few years (2001?  My memory for dates is terrible.  Didn't we lose to Coventry 2-0?).  Hopefully we get a plum tie....

Actually, I was being rather flippant. Clearly the result is important as it does put us in the 3rd round, which may land us a potentially money-spinning tie. But I'm sure that those who paid money to actually watch that sort of performance will have a somewhat different opinion.

I'd be more than slightly pissed off if I were a Morecambe fan today.

That's a relief....assuming we don't get another non league side, then we've survived another year of the 00's without losing to a non league side  Beers

A bit more composure in front of goal and 3 or 4 wouldn't have flattered Morecambe, but we've been there ourselves this season v Lincoln and Hereford.

If someone does one of those ratings, we had a few who 2 would be generous for.

I'll be quite happy not to have to watch the likes of Whalley and Brown in a red shirt again....Nicho and Jack Smith may have scraped a 3......and Pooky would get 0, has a player ever given a more inept 30 mins?

If I'd been up in the Arkells corner the drummer would have got it wrapped round his head....don't the authorities appreciate that a hangover is de rigeur for a Sat afternoon.

The Cock was truly shocking for the second game in a row, but he did at least make a couple of useful chase back tackles when someone had gifted possession.....looking like Luggy will shift him on though at this rate.

"Some players have bitten the dust as far as selection today because we need to keep our standards high. Not many people impressed me out there."

Nice to see Sturrock telling it like it is. Shakes, Brown, Whalley, Pook etc.

The must be rightly pissed off with that result.  They closed us down quickly and with numbers on the wings, and we had little or nothing to offer in the centre.  Their passing and movement was good, only their finishing let them down, and I wouldn't have given offside against the fella who put it in the net in injury time.

Phil Smith the only one to come out of that with any credit.

What confuses me is how the fans with a drummer in their midst put up with it.  I distinctly remember drummers in the home stands being told what to do with their sticks in the past.

I really don't mind Brown playing. Shakes annoys me the most.  :x

Poor game, thank God we've dodged the replay.  Collectively very poor, Phil smith takes some credit as does weston, the rest none at all IMHO.  No creativity, nothing up front, poor at the back, and an anonymous midfield.  Disappointing, but winning ugly is our way at the moment.

Smith was terrific, and although I completly agree about the side's inept performance, it has to be said that there were some shocking decisions from the officials.

Amazed to get a win today, I could only see Morcambe winning it as the game went on. No doubt Sturrock will be sorting out this issue!
