Well not yet, but i plan to, this is where you guys come in, i need help of where to go this comming year.
At the moment it looks like its going to be South Africa (if i can aford it) althought i might wait till 2010 for that. I did NYC last year, but theres a possibility i might do it again as im guaranteed a good time.
So ye, any suggestions i will take into consideration.
Cheers

Try namibia, spent a very happy summer there, it's pretty safe, totally beautiful, with loads of awesome stuff to see, good access to the vic falls etc.

Butlin's at Minehead is very reasonable, if you're a bit short.
Good access to West Somerset Railway.

I went for 2 weeks at the begining of april and the flight coz about £250 from Gatwick, My accomodationw as cheap coz we stayed in a hostel which was about again another 250 for 2 weeks, so all in all abou £500. It will prob coz you a bit more if u wanna stay in a better place. And you probably wont need 2 weeks there either, i just did it coz im a lazy fuck and i knew there would be days where i wouldn't wanna do anything and just laze around. 10days shuold be more than enough.

I can recommend NZ as well mate - my uncle lives in Wellington and I spent a fantastic 3 weeks on the North Island - went all over - Rotorua is fascinating but the Bay of Islands is AMAZING!
If its sun and sand and nights out you want .. Id recommend Lindos on the Greek Island of Rhodes - civilised AND enjoyable

South Africa is very nice, more so in the latter months of the year when it is really hot, I've been three times to see family out there but would agree with Mexico that there are many areas that are still very racist.
All in all though, if your sticking to the beaten tracks for your holiday, hotels, safari parks etc, then you'll have a whale of a time, if your goign for a backpackers one, be careful in capetown and Jo'burg cause theres more crime out there than almost anywhere else!
If you do go though, the best Safari Park to got to is ther Kruger National Park - you can get a place there (lots of different sized places) and they all face the central park areas but back on to the open land (with a big high fence obviously!) so you can quite literally if your lucky enough, stand right next to many of the animals in your own back yard (with just the fence seperating you!)
I really enjoyed it anyway but if its not the wildlife your after and you have no family, maybe somewhere else would be more up your street?
Did New York for few days last year - to be honest it is amazing but you dont need much more than 7 days unless you intend on gettign a car and branching out of town for a few day excursions!
