Just heard on radio 1 at work that British Airways employee has lost her case and is not allowed to wear her cross to work.  Absolutely bloody crazy so the main religion in this country cant wear a symbolism of its faith but muslims are allowed veils and scarfs.  How on earth do the government expect us to accept other cultures when these days were the ones victimised against.  Last year my brother was jumped by 3 asians and robbed it made about page 8 of the adver if it were the other way around and 3 white guys had jumped an asian then it would be front page news.   :nono:

muslim must be near enough the main religion in this country anyway.

And the reason this whole cafuffle happened was becasue she was wearing the cross out of her clothes. She was stil alowed to wear it, aslong as it was hidden. Its not that difficult. Hiding a turban on the other hand...

I find people wearing Christian jewelry highly offensive and BA were right to ban this.

agreed. ANY job that requires a uniform shouldn't include religious artifacts. And you shouldn't have them in schools or hospitals.

When was the last time you saw a stewardess wearing a burka?

My opinion is they can wear what they like providing it doesn't impede their ability to do the job, which I think is why the muslim veil debate has arisen primarily, you wouldn't dream of telling a sikh they couldn't wear a turban for an office job and rightly so, it might only be an issue if it beacme a health and safety risk.

I'd have more sympathy for this bird if she wasn't just stiring up trouble. She's been happily complying with the rules which BA have had in place for 13 years. Then decides to do this around the same time the whole muslim women veil thing kicks off. Wouldn't have even made page 40 of the daily mail otherwise.

Read between the media stories here.

She wasn't not allowed to wear it because it was a cross.

She wasn't allowed to wear it OUTSIDE her uniform as all British Airways staff must wear all personal jewellery inside the uniform (not on display).

Religion had nothing to do with it, she deliberately jumped on the religion bandwagon in order to get a big payday from BA, and it failed. So ha-ha-ha you stupid bint.

Sounds fair enough to me if thats ba's standard policy. Don't really see the link between this and sftctownendas brother being attacked.

Agreed. She strikes me as a self righteous christian type. She should either wear it under her blouse or shut the fuck up.
