After a particularly scrappy/poor performance i feel the highest i can give is an 8 so here goes.

Phil Smith 8 - Two very good saves and claimed alot of crosses/corners, only made 1 error in 1st half when he stopped coming for a ball. Impressive.

Jack Smith 8 - Very impressed today,  good defensively. Good game.

Jerel Ifil 8 - Composed at the back, took a very impressive number 7 (ward) out of the game. Superb.

Adi Williams 8-  Fuck me he was unbelievable today, absolutely shit hot, his experience showed towards the end of the game and was awesome at the back, helps ifil massively i think. Man of the Match for me.

Andy Nicholas 8 - Back 5 played very well today and he impressed at the back.

Soufien Zaaboub 7- Not fit, but has something about him, cold be a very good player when fit, showed nice touches and looked good defensively (a good LB potentially?)

Curtis Weston 6/7 - Not his sort of game but when he got the ball looked very good going forward. Started of well with Evans as those two work well toghether in the centre.

Paul Evans 7 - Was awesome first 10 minutes before his injury, we went downhill when he went off. Brave, ball winning mdfielder and put in some good tackles before he went off.

Ricky Shakes 5 - Apart from two good crosses he was woeful today, didnt battle or look like winning anything. Looks good when he is running past a player but he only seems to do that once a game.

Royce Brownlie 5 - Doesnt work well with Roberts, didnt seem up for it and dint look like winning a header, which for the first half was all we seemed to do was kick it up in the air to the strikers.

Chrstian Roberts 6 - Did nothing all game apart from the penalty. Didnt seem up for it.

Subs

Pook 7 - played well in the CM, battled hard and made a few good tackles.

Peacock 7 - Didnt have much to do but when he came on you could see the differece he made, unlucky not to score, a great save from his header from their keeper,(whom deserves a special mention for his sportsmenship when shakes was injured.) Suited the style of play sturrock likes.

Lucas 6 - looks very raw and could benifit with a bit longer than 10 minutes at the end.

Overall a good defensive performance from the back 5.

I think you're being far too kind... It was a poor performance today and everyone made significant errors.

I agree with Roberts, he was very lethargic today.

If you're going to do marks out of 10, the mark for an average, ok, run of the mill performance is 6.

I thought the defensive unit was worthy of a 7, ok, there was mistakes being made, but considering the amount they had to cope with and the fact that we didn't concede a goal speaks volumes. Phil Smith was my MOTM, followed by the back four.

Midfield started well, but lost the plot a bit when Evans came off. Shakes is NOT a winger. A winger puts CROSSES in the box! He looks like he's not incontrol of the ball when he runs with it, can't take players on and CAN'T CROSS! Maybe he's the fans whipping boy for a reason Mr Sturrock. Rating for midfield 5.  Zaboub, when fit, will be a very good player in leagues 1/2. Weston seemed a bit more subdued than usual, a few nice touches though.
Pook battled!

Up front Roberts showed glimpes of what he is capable of, unfortunately the other 98% of the time he was back to being a lazy bastard. Brownlie doesn't even deserve a mention. Peacock, when he came on, looked a little ring rusty, but did some good hold up work and got a good header on target. Rating for forward line 5.

We could have easily lost the game and the reason we didn't was down to the defense. Overall, I'd rate the team 6.

I'd rate the fans 8! Some good noise generated, especially considering the shit we were watching!

Phil Smith and Adi WIlliams were outstanding today with Smith my MOM he was awesome, Shakes was awful and Nicho poor ditribution but solid defensively, Ifil looked calm and collected as did Jack Smith.

Zaboub looked less than fit but good touches, Weston not bad overall Pook wasnt too bad and tackled well. Evans looked to be getting into the game when he was crocked.

Brownlie....rubbish, Roberts had some great touches and worked faily hard for half the game the other half he was his usual self, looked better after he scored the pen, Peacock looked a bit unfit still but had great touches and caused them lots of problems.

At the end of the day it was a good result even if not the most wonderful performance, the fans, as good as always.
