I have to organise a night out for 15 of our staff and 10 of our clients from a leading mortgage lending bank, but I dont really know anywhere in Birmingham to take them to as we are based near London!! Can anyone suggest a good place to go? Looking for somewhere primarily that we can get some food (albeit either finger buffet or sit down food) but preferably stay in the same place to get smashed afterwards (cocktails or a like would be good!) Can anyone please help??? :?:

The mini china town place is called the Arcadia. It's got restaurants and bars/mini clubs which all open until the small hours. It wasn't too bad, probably ideal for the sort of thing you're looking for. It's around the corner from the Bullring shopping centre

You can't stay there of course, but there's a Vietnamese restaurant called Cafe Soya right by the arcacian centre and it is seriously good and cheap. And there, you are right in the centre so close to loads of places to get smashed. Or you could go to one of the Balti restaurants in the Balti Triangle. Proper Brum. Or you could come to mine and I will do a buffet

If you head to the arcadian there's an array of good grub, los iguanas is nice, a decent chinese place is nearby too, and the swanky bar 52 degrees north isn't too far away. Avoid broad st as it is like fleet st in Swindon only 100 times larger and potentially troublesome, in the week it's student heaven at the weekend rough as anything, although brindley place off broad st offers canalside drinking much more pleasant and expensive. Also look into the mailbox which has harvey nics, other posh shops, restaurants and some good bars too. It's all very central though.

Stay away from Broad Street though. Full of cocks.

thinking of a place called Sante Fe in the Mailbox - Anyone been here and know if it is worth going to? Spearmint Rhinos on the Hagley Road?
Not sure what the finger buffet consists of there... Pretty sure the boss would love the finger buffet available at Spearmints, he's a one track mind kinda guy, but best to keep him away when we'll be with clients from one of the worlds biggest banks!!! Is the Mailbox a precinct or something? Googled it and it looks like a shopping centre?!!!

Mailbox is a 'lifestyle facility' posh shops, restaurants, hotel and apartments. As for spearmint rhino, I think it's hagley road there is also the 'extreme' club, meant to be huge and that's more centrally located.
As for Santa Fe sharky it rings a bell, i think I might have been there for a friends 21st, If I'm correct it was an excellent venue.
