News says Sturrock is going on the look out for an out and out striker this week, what do you guys recon on it?
I'm in two minds about it, really for 1- we have 3 current strikers and 1 or 2 potential stikers from the youth/reserve teams But then if the current strikers arent scoring then one that wil needs to be brought in, I'd like to see lucas given a chance, and play more thatn 3 min before sturrock gets another one in.
At the end of the day we need a goal scorer, roberts has shown he can score goals but can he continue to do it,
Discuss!

Sturrock didnt say he was after a new striker this week - the WDP did. Read what he said.
Whilst he did allude to the fact we are not a clinical team he didnt say he would immediatly be trying to do something about it.
My money is on him giving the existing strikers at least a few games to prove themselves with our new tactics of actually putting the ball into the box from wide areas.

Need a cureton type striker, i know he missed a lot of sitters but was a goalscorer, we don't have a natural goalscorer. Be pretty hard to find one without paying money though.

SN4 You what??? We need to finish chances, something that you've just said Cureton wasnt really very good at. He was a scorer of great goals, not a great goalscorer. I agree with your second point though. Strikers that can put the ball in the back of the net and actually have something else about theri game - unlike someone like grazioli for example - do not grow on trees and are not cheap. every team wants one.

I think he made his intentions clear when Fola went.
I would imagine one of either Roberts, Brownlie or the Cock will be farmed on loan too and a new man brought in. Much as I like Peacock I'd imagine it'll be him.

Yeah Cureton has scored alot of tap ins in his career which we don't have a striker that can do that.
Maybe take a chance on a non league player?

definatly need a new striker imo.whats mclean doing now? yup, those 3 goals on saturday convinced me we need another striker. As some further up said, its been the service thats the problem...its been far from perfect. A right winger should be our main aim, as currently we dont have one

we dont need another striker. Robbo looks capable when he is fit (as saturday prooved) Peacock will probably benefit under Sturrock's style of play and if Brownlie is played up front too we have loads of options. that includes Lucas and Caton too

that van nistelrooy fella looked good for real madrid last night :?
it's only right the current players get a chance, especially lukas and brownlie, before we bring anyone else in. finding a natural goalscorer isn't as simple as some are making out.
