My car tax runs out next week whilst I'm on holiday. I was going to do it all online tonight but I've lost my bastard MOT certificate.

I've searched fucking everywhere. I think the fucking thing's grown legs and fucked off. I leve early in the morning so no chance of going to the garage for a replacement, so now I'm going to come back off holiday facing a nice big fine.

On a more positive note, I found £35 in cash and an uncashed cheque for £20 whilst looking for the MOT certificate... get in!

Can't you declare it off the road or something for the meantime?

No, because it'll be parked on the road for the next week.

RESULT!

You don't actually need to MOT certificate to tax it online. Now it's all computerised you just need the reference number off of the reminder.

You can get a duplicate MOT for a tenner sam

http://www.duplicatemot.co.uk/

they're pretty good, turned my neighbours round in about 3 days

park the car on someones drive (probably safest to do so on a family members, not some random person!) and tax is irrelevant.

then when you get back, the chances of getting stopped between your house and the post office are presumably marginal
