Great win at the weekend thought we were much better much more convincing and we actually took our chances quality stuff.  Awful news about Brezovan hes been great this year, have to agree with some of the sentiments of below that Smith isnt up to the job.  Reckon we should try and get Tom Heaton back on loan from Man Utd, hes 3rd or 4th choice and they may even give us him just for the experience and they pay his wages as hes doing nothing at Man U at the moment.  Plus wee Willy knows Sir Alex well apparently, so if he pulls his finger out then maybe he could secure this deal, thought he looked a quality keeper and we were in the league above then and apparently he still comes down occasionally to watch games as he enjoyed his time here.

I'd have no problem with Heaton coming back, I'm not sure it will happen though given the amount of keepers united have out on loan currently and the finances of the deal. And the fact we are in L2 now.

To be honest I think Phil Smith deserves a run of a few games. At least give him a chance to try and prove himself. Problem with that being other clubs wont release a keeper to be second choice at a L2 club.

Ive heard on the grapevine .. Reading No 3 is the man we are targeting..
the Aussie keeper Adam Federici ... however his loan spell at Bristol City isnt over until 28th October .. but he hasnt been playing so it may end early and a move to us where he will be first choice - he played against us in the friendly and looked BIG and a good keeper

Thought Heaton looked a better keeper than Evans last season.

Does anyone really believe that a man who was on the bench for a champions league tie will really want to come to League 2?

I think Heaton is beyond us now, and we need to be more realistic.

Where did you hear this? I got told that we're signing a Reading keeper onloan, by someone who works within the club. Wasn't sure who the player actually was though.

This has all the makings of a rumour snowballing...Poyet tells the masseur, who tells all the blokes he's rubbing (!) down at the half marathon, who tell their mates who are Town fans, who tells everyone else.

What the hell...its all we've got right now.

fact is, Adriano Basso is keeping this Federici out of the City side and I'd choose Smith ahead of Basso - going on the fact Crawley fans seem to like Smith, whereas even Woking fans thought Basso was utter bollocks at the same level.

I'd be gutted if I was Smith - I reckon we should sign Pavel Srnicek.

On the keeper front, Sam Allardyce has stated he'd like to get his keepers out on loan. Ignoring Ian Walker and Ali Al-Habsi who he's offered to Chelsea, he also mentioned a trainee: Chris Haworth.

Probably worth Wisey seeing if Chris fancies a season at Swindon?
