those stats mean jack shit! i cannot remember 14 shots.yes it was a decent performance but the game itself was lifeless until brez's injury and was frankly flat as a pancake until then.
beat what was infront of us, but they were dire.
always new pook was better than most morons rated him though.fickle twats that know jack shit about the game

I never rated him because he played absolute dog shit. Now he's playing better, and i acknowledge that. Don't question my knowledge of the game, and i am not a fickle twat. You'd do well to not be so confrontational and to show a little respect to your fellow Town fan.

Go Dave

I thought we were pretty good on Saturday. We could easily have scored 5, they had a couple of half chances from set pieces.

Thats not to say we were earth shatteringly good though as we are in L2 for a reason. .

Tactically I think Wise has worked well with them in the last few weeks. Noticable that Peacock is staying central with Fola moving out to the wide areas, and that one of the central midfielders is trying to get forward.  We do look better with a proper right winger though. As others have said both Brownlie and Monky drifing inside does make us very narrow. I feel a bit sorry for Brownlie, he looks a lost on the right wing to me. With Shakes in the side it gives us genuine width and the ability to turn defence into attack quickly. Frankly I wish we had a better right winger than Ricky - but we dont and cant afford one now either - so we will just have to deal with it.

On the subject of central midfield, Pook & Weston played very well. Still a few misplaced passes from Pooky but you dont go from being "a supermarine player in 8 months time" to Stevie G overnight.  Liked Pooky shoving Gary Jones around at set pieces despite him being much bigger. I think a certain gentleman has been teaching him a few things about winding the opposition up Wink

Not everyone is blessed with your understanding of the game and couldn't see Pook's contribution.

There's also comfort for them in running with the crowd and just  joining in with the current "pub player" opinion - its a vent for frustrations.

Who's turn will it be next?

I'm going to stand up for the Pook bashers here although I wasnt one of them

Hs form had been poor since about christmas last year. When he 1st broke into the team I thought he looked a decent prospect, but the weight of trying to carry an invisible midifled at his age seemd to (understandably) crush his confidence.

Good to see him back to the type of form he 1st showed in the last 3/4 games. Can we credit Wisey with this improvement?

good performance, took our chances and created plenty

Grimsby werent good, but we've faced worst and not won so meh!

Mr. Ian....you're talking rubbish

thankyou

you can be happy with a average performance but im holding out for better.

I'd gladly take a season of, as you call it an 'average' performance like that one saturday.

Grimsby were shite, but so is the whole fucking league...that performance was probably enough to beat 18+ teams in this wankhole league

If a player has a long run of poor form (As Pook did) It's understandable that fans get frustrated and vent that frustration towards the player, it's always been like that. I remember Duncan Shearer getting loads of abuse from the old Shrivvy Roadwhen he went through a barren spell. To call people 'morons' and 'fickle twats' because of this is ridiculous. Football should be a passionate game and if a player is either not performing as he can, or is not of the standard you expect, you've every right to voice an opinion.

I slagged Pook off when he was playing shite and if he plays shite again, I'll slag him off again.

He wasn't just a pub player. He was the antichrist who caused the relegation.

I'm interested to know how Rhodes got on. He doesn't seem to be mentioned above. I know it was only a bit-part but was there some promise there?

He didn't get chance to do much to be fair, came on, looked lively, got in some good positions, scored but was offside  :|

He was quick, seems to be able to finish (going on the 'goal' and some pre-game practise)

Time will tell, i guess.
