I know he's a shit crosser but that can be worked on. He needs a run in the team to establish a rhythm and then hopefully some confidence. We know what he can do so lets give him a chance.

At the same time keep the same first team for a few games and see if they can gain momentum. Wise is continually switching the team around, so decent passing and understanding does not happen and confidence is always low. Play Rhodes on the left wing and drop Monkhouse, who never seems to know what he's doing.

Drop Monkhouse? not a chance - if we want goals he's got to be in there - I'd be tempted to play him in the middle with Evans though, Brown out wide.

Maybe.

As much as Shakes cant cross he cant do any worse than Brownlie out on the wing.

I'd like to see Monkey kept out on the left, Shakes on the right and Evans and Weston/Pook in the middle (soon to be replaced by Whalley).....
Up front we should try Brownlie and Rhodes.....will make Roberts and Peacock shit themselves that they are both out of the starting line up and get their respective houses in order.....
Brownlie and Rhodes could be awesome as they both seem to have an eye for goal and I'm sure with Rhodes' pace they'd link up well!

I'd still have Fola on the bench though over one or other of roberts or peacock as a change to the strategy if we're not winning enough in the air.....leaving peacock or roberts out off the bench as well as the starting line-up will really shake them up!

Wise wont do it though, he seems to have a lot of loyalty and is prepared to give plenty of time to both roberts and peacock.....unfortunately.

My Team would be:

                        Brezovan

J Smith       Ifil           Williams   Vincent

              Weston  Evans Pook

              Onibuje Peacock Rhodes

Reckon that would be the ideal thing with so many teams trying to stifle us by putting 10 men behind the ball having 3 strikers would cause them all sorts of problems with Fola & Rhodes pace and the strength of Fola and Peacock we would have the right mix to really have a go.  Plus if it wasnt working we could just switch to 442 moving Weston right, Rhodes back to left and Onibuje and Peacock up top....the plan B as mr McClaren put it and remember how succesful that was..........

I suggested that exact team a couple of days ago for the same reasons

No, No, No, No

3 in midfield doesn't work with Swindon. The opposition just put 4 in there and pass right through us.
Classic 4-4-2 with two touchline hugging wingers please.

(and Shakes as one of them!)

No, No, No, No

All of our wingers aint very good for various reasons. Therefore it is logical to not play with traditional wingers.

In the 4-3-3 Rhodes and Fola are obliged to drop back when the opposition are in possesion to help out the midfield.

I agree with wingers they dont put good distribution into the box and not only that but there not normally in the positions so our strikers pull out wide and put the balls in the box where theres probably only 1 player as the wingers dont attack the back post where they should be on any crosses from the opposing wing.  Thus in the 433 a striker can pull out wide put the ball in and the likelyhood is there will be at least 2 in the box.
