Leadmill is the best club in Town although it depends what you are after really. Nearly all the pubs / bars now are in the West St / Division St area including usual chains (Walkabout / Refex / Whetherspoons / Lloyds etc). The Common Room is pretty good, I understand the place for females these days is Revolution which is part of the West One complex but be prepared to pay London prices and wait twenty mins to get served hence I stopped going there. Quite a few good alternative pubs as well that are cheaper than the new trendy bar type places. Students have just arrived back which means pubs are a million times buisier particularly in midweek when stupidly low prices available in some bars and lots of 18 year old girls who must have left their clothes in their hometowns wandering around.

Sheffield's ace, my mate's at Hallam university there. Plug's a bit wank - just a big hall really. Leadmill would have my vote, as though it's a little small it has had a good atmosphere both times I've been there.
Though the Arctic Monkeys have played there....

The only place I can remember going in Sheffield is The Hurley(sp), just down the road from the main university's union towards the centre. This will be no help whatsoever but I had a good night in there, chilled music, comfy chairs, cheap drinks :smile1:

Id like to add that I have never been to Sheffield but quite like Sharpe with Shaun Bean and Pulp.

Went to visit a friend at uni there a few years ago. We went to a pub called the cask and cutler I think. Specialised in Belgian beers (of which they had at least 20 on the menu, all served in their correct glasses). We started off reasonably sensibly on the ones ~8% ABV. After a while though it descended into the inevitable situation of ordering the 13% stuff and using it to play drinking games. Very messy evening. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/30/3080/Cask_and_Cutler/Sheffield
