nothing really that we didnt already know Yep. Big Ron is an arrogant tosser. Full of hot air and full of himself and as thick as two short planks. Iffy is an intellectual genius by comparison. He saw through the bullsh*t and dumbing down and wouldn't play their contrived TV games. Good on him.

I thought that potentially, Big Ron could have been very useful to us. I know a lot of people on this forum don't like him but he has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
However, for that to have been really effective, Ron would have had to have shown true humility and remorse for his Desailly 'Lazy Nigger' comments. Iffy also needed to see the whole exercise as something other than a publicity stunt for Big Ron.
If 'BR' had contacted Iffy before filming and said' "Let's go for a beer Iffy and get to know each other and I will tell you how gutted I was over the Desailly incident" then things could have been a lot different.
Sadly though, Ron couldn't really see what he did wrong.
I was a bit disappointed with Harry Basset's and (particularly) Kamara's responses in the programme which were very pro-Ron.
I'm glad Sky bothered to show it anyway.

Thought it was a bit harsh to blame Iffy for the Rory situation too.
The guy was going to go whatever Iffy said, and the board were always going to sell him whatever Iffy said. They needed the cash and his contract was coming up.

It absolutely drives me mad watching the arrogant fool Ron Atkinson on tv - such a has been and never comes out with anything your gran couldn't say about a game...'ooh, thats a good goal', as someone knocks in an overhead kick from 461 yards...
They played up Iffy being too weak to handle him too much - the fact is, not many people could handle Ron - he throws his weight around, shows off his gold rings...the man couldn't even push his own bags through the airport!
Yes, in hindsight it would've been nice to have Lloyd Dyer over Jarrett - but we weren't to know he'd be in a car crash. The best bit had to be when it became clear that treor Benjamin was Ron's idea!
Iffy came out of it well...the mans a star and I'd love him to get back inot the league and succeed.

At the end of the day the aim of a programme was to make a new manager to the game look like a mug and to make Ron Atkinson look good. They tried it with iffy and they did it with Steve Bleasdale. The difference was iffy saw through it early on and wasn’t having it, and Mark Devlin backed him like any good chairman or chief executive should do. (Barry Fry, maybe you could learn a thing or two) I think Devlin also said "Iffy saw it as rehabilitation for Ron, and didn’t want to be a part of that" and I totally agree with Iffy. I think the fact Iffy was black also played a vital part in it. It also shows you a lot about the men when you consider everything Iffy had bad to say about Ron on camera he said to his face as well, Ron just slagged him off on camera and didn’t want to know face to face. If Ron cared about making the programme properly in the first place he wouldn’t have been in Barbados while we were losing to Gillingham away. I also agree with Iffy in that Ron should have offered to go for a beer with him before hand and clear the air off camera before starting the programme, but everything had to be on camera. P.S Ron: "If we’d have carried on like that i might have had the guns blazing" shut up Ron you'd get smashed And if you don’t want to read all that, the jist of the post was iffy was right, rons a cunt.
