Saturday was another one of those games when I left quite bemused by our support. We have some of the most fickle tossers in the world, guys who last week were calling Roberts the best striker in the division were this week cursing him calling him a fucking cunt and asking for him to be subbed. Does anybody understand the concept of support its in the word there 'support' we encourage and support our team get behind them and when we do that and we sing our hearts out it can turn a mediocre performance into a good one and push the team on enough to get another goal. Dont get me wrong for about 20-25 minutes in the second half thought we did great sung for long periods and got behind them and its times like that when im proud to be a town fan but then theres other times like stinging criticism towards normally consistently good players and boo'ing at both half and full time I know it was a poor performance but we have to stay with them. If we as fans stay with the team and get behind them week in week out then we can turn the county ground into an intimidating place to come. Sorry for such a long rant but I do get frustrated with the over the top critisism I know we all pay our money so are entitled to an opinion I just dont see how it benefits the team calling our players fucking shit etc.

I know what you are saying but the players fully deserved to be booed off at both full and half time.
Both effort and quality were lacking and only a couple of the players did thier ability justice. I'm not going to politly applaud players going through the motions just to be "supportive"
Fans react to performances. which is why the CG was dead for most of the game on saturday.

I know what he's saying regarding fickle fans, there were people around me booing and then they started clapping as soon as they saw that the player weres applauding the fans.

I agree with what was said at the top by townenda .. it was the first really bad performance .. out of 9 .. some were too quick to give the lads stick ..

i think that everyone has every right to boo or moan, especially after saturday's ajbect performance but a sense of perspective is also required - we're still in an automatic promotion spot and we've won 7 out 9 games.

everyone jizzes their pants when we win, so should rightfully slash their wrists when we lose.

Thats football for you. Every fan wants their team to win so much.
If it was like cricket, and you didnt have that critical support it wouldnt be the same. To take stick is part of a footballers remit, our players are professionals they know that.
They got a great reception after loosing at Wrexham, because the performance and the entertainment wasnt bad at all. Saturday was shit, and they have to take in onboard and move forward.
Football is a release for a lot of people. Its something to get worked up about. I hope that never changes.

That's so true, I wish people, like the police, would realise that. So many people who go to football and slag off ie swear at the ref, away fans, opposition manager are professional people themselves, outside a football ground they normal people, but in the heat of the moment they just want to let of some steam!!
Bit like this forum really, just a good place to let of some steam during the working week.
