My g/f (Dons fan) thought we were a bunch of cheats, diving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the first penalty claim was a blatent dive from roberts when he's more or less turned his man... pretty stupid really

town's defence was really solid tonight, showing that swindon don't need a 20+ goal a season man because they won't let many through at the other end

I'm bloody exhausted after that.

Agree with most of whats been said. It was a poor game technically tonight, especially second half, but the main positive to take out from tonight has to be how we matched them physically and dug deep when everyone could see the second half was going to be an uphill battle. I very much doubt teams of the past few years would've had the experience and nous to see that through.

There were a few good performances - Ifil (distribution aside) was solid.

Nicho offers us far more going forward than Vincent does and does the job at the back too.

Caton showed some nice flashes, especially the run that won the penalty - gareth edds wasn't comforable with that his pace and direct style running at him - ironically, even though he's naturally a striker, Caton seems more willing to take on a full back than Monky or Brown. (Wise's comments on the radio again alluded to Brown's lack of commitment)

The front two worked really well first half and we're wel supported on both flanks. Roberts was his usual self and Peacock really thought about his flick ons.

Best of the bunch tonight though was young Mr Weston I thought. Used the ball well, did a good enough job tracking back and could hit the six yard box rather than the scoreboard with the crosses.

For all the tackles that flew in, the middle tewo were really dissapointing though. I'll give Ince time because I'm sure he's not 100% yet, but Paul Evans is best when he bosses it in there and today he didn't seem as sure of his role. Ince did stick the boot in, and maybe thats what tonight called for, but his strutting about didn't do him any favours. He had two spats with Peacock (not sure why) and also flung his arms in the air when he got a ball he couldn't do much with from Shakes - Shakes was under pressure but this didn't seem to matter to him - I am concerned he might disrupt the unit, but lets judge that one in a month.

Praise aside - we were largely clueless 2nd 45. We were desperate to clear out lines but there was no composure, just blood and thunder and hoping for some luck.

MK were poor and didn't seem to have a plan B aside from finding Platt or Wilbraham in the air and mopping up. Dyer didn't look the thret I suspected and Diallo is the strangest header of a ball I've ever seen - off the top of his nut ever time! Saying that, a lot of teams will crumble with that many studs flying in. Thankfully (I think) we showed them just as many of ours in response.

Other points....Allen made an absolute fool of himself. What a petulent child. His jumping around when Roberts foued their player was pathetic. His general antics can't help a side - how can he possibly thinnk straight when he's that wound up...he makes Stuart Pearce look like a sedated turtle.

Their fans - that drum needs a-burning. Love the fact they had no songs so they just clapped and drummed - must be what they do at the hockey. Made sure I made some nice blunt franchise-bating comments within earshot of their lot on the way out to...in converstaion, ya know.

When are we going to batter someone?
