I'm going to get berated for this, but I'm thinking of getting tunnels in my ears....  just small ones mind.  This comes after getting a tattoo on Friday, thinking I'm losing it....

1).  Is it painful?

2).  How is it done?

3).  Could they close up if I took them out?

4).  I'm cool.

getting tunnels in your ears might be a good idea, then maybe someone can have a look through to see if there is a brain between 'em

Don't do it! You'll regret it, it's the first thing that'll be noticed when you go for job interviews (ie: you won't get the job) and look like a twat when you're older. They won't heal either (it's a dry wound).

Pic of tattoo though please...

1- is it painfull? No, just a normal bog standard ear peircing, normaly staring with a 1.6mm ring
2- How is it done?  Through time and patience.
You start of with a normal 1.6mm peircing you then take it in turn to strech it, at first i'd start slowly every 2 months going up a mill so at 1month go to 2mm then 3mm to your desired size.
The further on it goes the easier it will be to strech, but dont strech too quick as you ear can rip and thats painfull so i have been told.
3- In time, if taken out then will close up but not over night,
4- not as cool as me tho.

They're like tunnels, in your ears.
