I understand your argument Janaage, and indeed agree with it.  What I'm saying is I find it sad that people become immune to the news of soldiers dying everyday, then feel devestated by the death of someone who may well be famous, but is still someone they didn't know.

Yeah, that's fair enough, I don't think people are going over the top, from what I saw on TV this morning, I think most people are just disappointed that the Steve Irwin story has prematurely finished.

News has a history of moving on, in terms of soldiers, wars.  Look at Zimbabwe you hardly hear anything about that anymore but there's still trouble going on, people get fed up of hearing the same news day after day.

I'd be interested to see how a stingray goes about it's killing.I wonder if they were filming at the time, I'm sure it's what he would have wanted after all he was doing what he loved....winding up potentially deadly creatures. It's just a shame he wouldn't be able to provide the commentary Sad

Spacey, stingrays aren't deadly but this paticular one punctured his heart with it's spike.

It's not deadly but it's got a spike?! Does it carry it in it's pocket for protection?

Gregg the Stingray: Bloody 'ell shane, that Irwin fella's about

Shane the stingray: Better take me spike just incase!

Their tail has a spike which they inject the venom with. It punctured his heart.
