been to ashburton grove myself.its fucking superb!great views,pa system,and lay out.
as its new things need time to settle ect.the ground is split into 4 quadrants all colour coded.this is to enable people to follow the street signs to find the correct quadrant,meaning everybody doesn't go the same way.naming it after x players would be daft imo.the system they have is a good one.
to say arsenal fans are plastic is a little far fetched as you need to be a member to get a ticket for big games as they sell out.it takes years to build up memberships to be able to get to the stage to get tickets for top fixtures.
agree about food prices £4 for a pie. :evil:
good chippy round the corner from the groundthough and plenty of places to get a drink.i hope we can get them away in the fa cup,it would be a great day out for town fans
i aint an arsenal fan but i am a member and choose to watch premiership football there. There biggest problem is probably that half the members ain't fans and just choose to watch premiership football there. |

As a non-season ticket holder I am quite worried taht if Swindon were ever to do well or get a plum cup draw I wouldn't be able to get a ticket. I guess I will just have to cross that bridge if/when I get to it |

Right where do I start! Well went to Arsenal to watch them spank sprata whatever. Anyway no complaints about the game or the fact that I got hammered before hand for free thanks to my boss. But the fucking problem is the ground. As a staduim it's brilliant good view nice clean loos wheelchair access ect ect ect but as a football ground it's shit! No atmosphere, nothing to idnetify it to arsenal I mean I was sat in the Yellow section why not call it the tony adam sections for expamle. The food was a rip off £7 for a buger and chips! and they were selling bagles for fuck saking it's a football not a shopping trip and bagles are yid food!
As for the wannkers in the ground there all silnet plastic cunts more intrested in what the subs are doing (T Henry he's a cunt too but thats another rant) the biggest cheer of the eveining was at the end when the chavski score was read out! The women in fromt of me called a steward over to her seat and complained cos there was chewing gum stuck to it 5 mins ater some little shit appers with and scarpes it off! image that at the county ground!
Ashbourton Grove is the catherdal of Plastic fans who worship the shit that is fast becoming Top flight football lets pray that Swindon nver beomces that plastic!!!! I have also been this season to the new stadium .. would have to agree about the lack of identity to Arsenal within the ground and the outrageous burger and chips price .. added to this you cant even get JUST a bag of chips .. they only come with the burgers!! On the plus side the views are very good wherever you sit and there is an improvement in the atmosphere to the old ground .. but this wont really be felt until a big game - the problem is that there are too many fans who are just there for the one match .. many from abroad ... the real hardcore fans arent able to get a ticket that often .. hence it can be quieter sometimes .. except for the big games which are always very loud .. they also expect to win all the games against lower opposition .. its hard to explain but as a result they dont cheer as loud ... I personally dont understand it either Another down side was the difficulty getting out over the Bridge at the end of the match .. it took AGES!! Personally I was happy to be back at the County Ground 2 days later when we played Barnet .. what a lovely ground we have .. history and character ..  |
