i have had a bet on them to win the league this year.MADNESS i hear you say.well its a handicap bet i have had on betfair and it basically works out that if pompey finish up less than 24 points behind the league winners i win.i had a nice £25 on them at 18/1 and they have just beat boro 4 nil.i have a very good feeling about this bet they look quite strong this year

I think Portsmouth will do quite well this year. Redknapp's a good manager and he's turned them around, they also have a fair bit of money now so could definitely see them finishing in the top half. Sounds like a pretty good bet.

Spreading the odds on them finishing in say the top six would make you a mint. You'd just sell the bet as the odds decrease.
A mate made a shit load on Chelsea not winning title a few seasons back. He sold the odds at the start of the season at some ridiculous price and within a few games bought them back at much longer odds (If you don't understand spread betting, the above will make zero sense).
