Why do you call it 'The Rochdale League'?

Rochdale have been in it for something like 25 years now....got to love their fans,  no plastics there.

Longer than that, this is there 33rd consecutive season in this league.

2nd in this divvy is Darlington who've been here since 1990.

Arsenal have the longest stay in any division - Top flight since 1919 - BORING BORING ARSENAL  Cheesy

But everybody seems to think football became a new game and history was re-written as soon as the Premiership began...

In which case they haven't been there for more than what 15 years?

I don't buy into that at all.

We've had a bloody eventful last 14/15 years though, in our brief history!

I've lost a few years , there then.  At least Rochdale did make it to the PO's once, something the scum have never managed.

We're screwed in Sept anyway - Wise will get MoTM, and then that's it for the month. Least we've got a nice points cushion to sit on and are currently the best side in England

Not saying I agree with it at all! But everybody raves on about the whatever record "in the Premiership" and it seems that anything before the formation of the Premier League has been wiped off the slate.

That's just shit media pundits who like to buy into the whole "There is only one league in British football" because then they don't have to know or care anything about the other 72 sides. Oh, and the armchair divvies whose entire view of football is shaped by such pundits as they've never been to a game in their lives, obviously

Its not strictly true, because you'll get stuff like Chelsea are going for " a remarkable 3 titles in a row, only achieved by ManUre , Liverpool ....(and cough splutter whisper it quietly) Huddersfield Town.

I think it is fair to say that we will drop points in September and maybe (shock horror) lose a game.

If we are still in the top three by the end of the month (and I think we will be) then we will be up there for the long haul.

Interestingly enough (well, interesting in a boring kind of way) when we won the Div 4 Championship in 86-86, we lost at home to Wrexham on the opening day of the season (0-1) . In 95-96 when we won the Div 2 Championship the first team to beat us was Wrexham (3-4). On the 9th September we are away to.............yes, that's right...........Boston..........

D'oh! No I mean Wrexham.

I do think that could be where we drop our first points this time round as well.  I believe we will make it 6 wins out of 6 at Chester and follow that up with a draw at Wrexham.

Day of the Notts County game.

What are the chances of getting from Birmingham to Aberystwyth (3 hours, sheep permitting) to drop my daughter at university, set up her room, then get back to Nottingham for kick-off?

Slim I would say - not a word often associated with me  Oops
