and...in the past we've played Saturday then again on Bank Holiday Monday...

Last season wasnt it Yeovil at home on the Saturday, the Tranmere away on the Monday?

so it was.

don't think anybody that played saturday are playing today though, except non-league teams (OXFORD!)

i think maybe it was cos the season finished earlier last year?

that cant be it, because it wasnt just last season we played on the August bank holiday monday. Its been every season for as far back as I can remember. I remember going to Bournemouth on bank holiday Monday. We drew 2-2 wore the one off white shirt and the Jungle book video fell onto my knee on the coach and it fooking hurt!!

So why not this year then...seems odd....

hmmm you're right, i remember bournemouth but i thought that might have been because of the european championships meaning the season had to finish a bit earlier.

we went to warsaw in 04/05, went 2-0 up and lost 3-2, another kingy special.

I was in Newquay that weekend, I remember getting the text updates  Crying

So, in conclusion we usually play august bank holiday monday...but this season we arent.

Have they changed the dates of the Carling Cup first round maybe??

Well we've got 7 games in September, possibly to make up for not playing today.

Which still doesn't explain why there weren't any bank holiday fixtures I realise. I just wanted to join in. Maybe they forgot it was a bank holiday?

Yes I think it is because of the internationals.  Fucking shit that there was no game yesterday (although I would have missed it - as I went to the twenty20 match).

Stop messing with our traditions UEFA!!
