That has to be right of course, but I think that Flasheart's comment is still both accurate and relevant. She sticks to a simple message that climate change is happening, that it's bad, that people in power are doing virtually nothing about it and that her generation (and future ones) are the ones who are going to suffer the most. That is so demonstrably true that it gives nothing to attack or denigrate in contrast to so many climate change activists, notably Extinction Rebellion, who make OTT claims and demands that enable people to dismiss all the accompanying truth. And she assiduously avoids the Emma Thompson hypocrisy trap. Basically she is very young, very calm and very right with that 'on the spectrum' implacable lack of unwarranted respect for her elders and betters. That is always going to be infuriating to old, white, powerful men. |
