The whole of african football is plagued by age cheats. Thats why Taribo west got sacked from plymouth. Also there is no way that Freddie adu is a young as he is. The problem is that there records of births in these countries is non existant. In south africa all the local league players have to have ID cards which are checked before every game to make sure that there are no over aged ringers in there.

I think Roger Milla is the most famous case, there was always questions about how old he actually was. Ibrihama Bakayoko, the former Everton striker was another beleived to be older than he was claiming. Didnt hear about Taribo West tho? How old is he actually suppose to be? Maybe this is why he peaked at the age of around 23-24 and ended up bouncing from club to club by 30.

Didn't Freddy Adu move to the US when he was 7 or 8 or something like that? Why would he lie about his age at that stage?

Taribo West was supposedly about 42 last season when Plymouth sacked him. When he was claiming to be mid 30s
They all lie about their age, Martins seems to have been 21 for years now...

The West one deffiently makes sense. I could never work out how he was playing champions league football for Inter Milan yet couldnt find a club by the time he was 30.

There was a guy from Zimbabwe in my student halls last year who claimed to be 21. This seemed normal as he didnt look much older and had no reason to lie whatso ever, however one day we found his passport and discovered he was really 32! And he was shit at football
