but you don't see him cut it.only when he tries to walk do you see it split open.
which on reflection was pretty smart but like when he chopped his toes off. it cut away. i was hoping to see it.
maybe i was expecting too much as people had raved on about how good it was etc
i thought you might say that, if you just want to see gore try rotten.com where there's plenty of pictures of blokes who've shot their own heads off, etc.
the idea with cutting away is that the imagination is (or, should be) more powerful than the actual image. ala reservoir dogs when he cuts his ear off - you never see any gore because the camera moves away to a random part of the room at the last minute but many people find it to be one of the worst scenes ever to watch and cannot listen to 'stuck in the middle with you' without wincing at the memory of the scene. masterful use of music and image, tarantinos soundtracks are always top.
