people there's a thread for hilarity and a thread for the serious business of selling a car. please note this is not the place to be having fun.

take it outside!

Stick it in the Adver at X price

And put it in Autotrader at X plus £50 to cover the listing costs.

I sold my Ford Focus in one day on Autotrader - first viewer bought it and I only listed the week before going around the world.

how much are you looking for. I just happen to know someone who is looking for a 1st car.

Reckon it might be a bit out of their prices range, but worth a shout

Lady - IF you place you car in AutoTrader, I guarantee you will get x number of calls from various 'companies' offering guarantees to sell your car for the full asking price. Whatever you do, take my advice and tell them to FUCK OFF - they are a bunch of con artists who'll leave you with your car unsold and lighten your wallet (or purse in your case) to the tune of 100 quid. Been there, done that.

If no-one has told you before, get a valuation of your car on something like Parker's, work out your bottom line and add 5-10% to the advertised price. Be prepared to haggle, particularly as you need a quick sale (but don't tell anyone that!). Advertising in Trade It is free (I think), will cost around 40 quid for AutoTrader.

Buy a sim card for your mobile and through it away again after listing it.
That way all the calls can be disconnected once you've sold the car...

E-bay? Never sold/bought a car from anyone on-line, has anyone had any problems doing this?

500 are you joking?

Got valuation yesterday and is looking a lot better than I thought.

Plus my mileage is lower than I realised.

Surely you have to put it in the adver with plus £50 quid aswell, you've still paid for the autotrader advert. Unless they have some sort or if you don't sell your car through us it's free rule. Argh I've confused myself now.

plus it's one careful lady owner

Seriously when you sell it to viewers, wear a crucifix and stick some choir music in the stereo. For real effect stick an "I follow Jesus" sticker in the back window.

If they offer a low amount, reject it saying that isn't enough to fix the church roof.
