Hi All,

Am looking to sell my car within the next month however not sure the best way to go about it? Private/Franchised/Independent dealer etc. Obviously I want to make the most I can on it as do most people.  Any suggestions/tips? (Not sure on mileage)

Its a 1.25 Ford Fiesta Zetec 3 dr Hatchback
Good condition
Air Con
CD player

A lot of places are variable cost wise dependent on the selling method.....

Why are women never sure on milage on their cars? Thats the numbers under your speedo btw!

The quickest and easiest way (and free!) is using Trade-it magazine. Simply call 01179 720000 and tell the op you wish to place a car ad. Describe your ad like the one below:

Ford Fiesta 1.2 Zetec 3 door. T-reg, 61,000 miles. Blue. Air con, cd player. Good condition for year. Tax and mot until March 2007. £1,800ono

The 2 important bits are the milage and Mot length. Remember no-one will want to buy a car if it has no or very little Mot left for fear of buying a car that could need a lot of work doing. So if your Mot is about to expire well worth spending the £45 on a new one to increase the market value. Also your car will be advertised with a load of other fiesta's so you need to make yours stand out. Something simple like stating one lady owner could make the difference. Get an idea in your mind what you want to sell the car for, then add on a bit more when you go to advertise it. This way when a potential punter comes over to view it and haggles with you over the price, they feel like they've got a bargin, whilst really you have got the price you really wanted!

Best of luck!

I've always bought my cars after reading ads in the local rag, so try advertising in that. The adver has a full list of cars for sale every Friday so anyone looking to buy cars will know to buy the paper on a Friday.

Thanks for that. TBH I haven't got as far as checking the mileage yet.

Getting it MOT'd and got full service history so least thats positive.

I need a relatively quick sale though...

Some of my family emigrated to New Zealand a while back. They love it.
