Yo, I just bought this new DVD Re writer:
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/-/542/700/-/917987/Sony_DWG120AB_DVD_Rewriter/Product.html?searchtype=genre

And I can't get it to work. My computer recognise its there, but it wont read anything properly.   I only bought a new one, cos I thought my other was buggered.  :?

Try going to sony support for the drivers and see if installing them helps.

My mate has a sony DVD rewriter and says it's a common problem with xp/sony drives. His plays up all the time  :|

Sony site is crap. It doesn't give any drivers updates. It doesn't seem to spin around fast enough I think.

Does the Link on the back of the Drive make any difference? It is in a different place than one one I pulled out?

I swap both my drives around and they both worked. Strange, any reason why?

Shocked  Sounds like that was the problem. I assumed somebody would have read the instructions to sort that out first though  Cheesy

I dunno, I guess I just thought something like that would have been clear from the instructions  :-))(

Also Pip didn't mention he now had more than one drive

I wasn't shocked you figured it out or nothing

It wasn't that. As the set up is exactly as same as when I bought it. Also the new drive didn't come with any instructions.
