My sister is a veggie and i quite like the quorn meat.

The cardboard bacon is nice.

i am a veggie and it tastes too much like meat

however the bacon is ace

Without wanting to soud like a Carry On Film here but do you not like the taste of meat at all Bennett?

The handful of veggies I know all admit to at least missing chicken or roast beef.

I'm still looking for a veggie black pudding. Which I appreciate makes very little sense, but there you have it.

I'm sure I've read something about a veggie black pudding recently. Think it might have been in the good food magazine or something. They went along the lines about how they were pretty skeptical about it but it was actually really nice.

The thing about black pudding is that the shit stuff tastes like poo. Has to be of a reasonable standard and it's the nicest thing in the world. Especially with a little mustard.

I feel sacrilegious even pointing this out but there is sadly such a thing.

And they do mail order - dazza you're a fucking star.

Woohooo! A few days of anticipation followed by the inevitable disappointment of any keenly awaited "fantasy become reality" awaits.

Obviously it's going to be nasty and not a patch on the real thing, but then it's been nigh on 20 years since I've had a real black pud so tbh will I notice? And it can't be any worse than the various "turns to cardboard in 10 seconds, will stab you in the roof of the mouth in 20" veggie bacons on the market.

Bring it on!

Pork and chilli sausages from the butcher's in Cricklade are truly fantastic....Also quite partial to beef and red wine ones (can't remember where from though).

And proper homemade burgers are definitely up there with sausages (pre-bought burgers are just nasty)....so worth the mess and effort!

Michael Hart's Butchers - fantastic sausages although those Pork and Chilli ones have random amounts of chilli in them so they sometimes blow your head off!
