They've a 30,000 stadium coming on line, next season I believe, I daresay a bank is prepared to fund this effort to get some momentuum going....whereas we're denied any overdraft facility.

They're really not that far behind Oxford on the hate-stakes.
If that metal burned, I'd be up there asap to try arson out. Saying that, they're looking a fair bet for promotion.

ASDA and their developers have pretty much funded the actual stadium build, so that leaves them a substantial asset to borrow against. That's what the whole MK move was about as ASDA Walmart couldn't get planning permission for their proposed Denbigh megastore without some form of Trojan horse. They'd been knocked back twice already, then up pops Greasy Pete, one stolen football club later and "Hey Presto" it's full steam ahead. Just hope most of this spend is borrowed money and that they f**k it up and can't make the repayments- they could be the Leeds of Conference South.

Good luck to them - I don't care who they sign, what their past is, whether they nicked a club or even whether they started WW2 - they are fuck all to do with my club, so...

Well quinnismyhero what you think is up to you.
Personally MK Dongs are the only club I would truely be delighted at seeing go bust. I'd rather Oxford and City win their leagues than Franchise get promoted.

I hate them because of the franchise factor. I too wouldn't give a toss if they lost everything and dissolved into the black hole of financial disaster.

Winkleman actually circulated a leaflet titled ‘No Asda– No Stadium’ around Milton Keynes as he attempted to get the planning approved for the stadium.
Interestingly enough Windy tried an exact replica of the MK Don’s Asda/stadium plans in Sheffield but got the knock back on the planning.
Northampton and Darlington are recent examples of sides who have flashed the green at this level and neither side got any instant return with Darlington actually getting themselves into a bit of trouble in the process.
