Who thinks our defence is are weakest part of the pitch?
we have trialist still at the club are either of them any good to sign for the club? even after scoring a few goals? before the season starts also are we going to get the big name in before the season starts? are we good enough to get out of div 2 and also final question we seem to have one good fiancial person at the club who is willing to reach the back pocket but his he enough to get us
up there ?..as i have seen the club threw thick and thin and notice still when ever we seem to get a good player who is young and good for the club we have to sell them will this continue?..i can no longer go to the club as i now live in dallas usa but i miss going to the games for sure after going for many seasons from early 80s to 2004 when i last went...thank god for internet  Cheesy  and forum sites such as this one ..will keep the red flag flyin high coz swindon town will never die!

Do people forget to spell and use punctuation in Dallas?  Wink  That makes for some tough reading.

We're not in Div 2, although I know what you meant.

The point of polls is to have answers. The answers you provide are actually questions, making the point of this poll nonsensical.

i've been satisfiably impressed by the triallists, rodrigo is a hard working, hard tackling yet creative midfielder. he's set up a fair few goals over the course of pre-seaso and he's only 19 so there's room for improvement. brownlie on the other hand is a goalscorer, puts the back in the back of the net. in the same mould as parkin i feel. personally, i'd offer them both a contract.

are we good enough to go back up? yes, provided everyone performs to their best ability. nobody can afford to underperform this season. however, i don't think we've got any divine right to get promotion nor are we the best team in this league.

the defence seems stronger than last season with vincent and williams providing some much-needed experience at a higher level but this is a make-or-break season for ifil and nicholas.

i also think that the structure is in place for us not to need to sell young players on, i think the deal we've got for brezovan is indicative of this, we have first option to sign him at any point during the loan and first refusal when his loan expires.

i'm looking forward to the season, don't think i could cope living abroad as i'd miss stfc too much  Cool

1. Are the trialist good enough to sign??
Can't tell so far because 'uddersfield aside the opposiition has been weak. Wise will probably know by the end of the day.

2. Is the club good enough to go up from div 2??
My head says no. I think Wise is doing a good job, but he had a massive job to do. It may take longer than a year. That said, nothing is impossible.

3. Is the finacial backing good enough for us not to sell player when we find young talent that become worth money???
All depends on the price. We may not have to 'give' players away but ultimately we will stay a selling club for a log time yet.
To put perspective on that, before Power (& Wise)  came onboard I wondered if the club would fold due to non payment of the CVA at the end of the year and falling gates due to relagation.

Things are a lot better than 6 month ago, but don't expect miricles

the defence is on a par with the midfield

i dont know about the trialists because i haven't seen them play but Brownlie sounds like he could be worth a punt

i think we are good enough to get out of this shit league no doubt. but im not sure about this season

the financial backing sounds fine! with Bill Power on board we have someone who is prepared to put money in. as for youth, well we do have some promising players. i suppose it would all depend on whether we actually move up the leagues as that can have a bearing on players wanting to stay or go and how well we are doing financially. it may also depend on who is the chairman at the time

true but if they are not going to be playing regularly then you can't really count them. Id love to see Wise come on against Plastic FC next week and take a few of their legs out  Cheesy
