...and it wasn't down the local either.

http://www.swindontownfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10341~869913,00.html

"a pool recovery session led by Christian Roberts."

"a recovery session with Christian Roberts leading the way ... the Town vice-captain relishing in his new found role."

i have to say that i think wise is treating roberts superbly and if it continues, he could very well flourish this season.

i suspect the word recovery is merely a token gesture

he owes us about 18 months of wages i'd say.

that said, under better management he might have sorted his drinking out sooner. who knows?

i think he knows that he's got something to prove to not only the fans but himself as well. i'm sure he'll want to repay the faith wise has placed in him too.

So so pleased with Roberts.  Made such an effort to get back into training and sort himself out, deserves to do well. Glad hes had good support as well.

Roberts has done well beating his Alcholism and has impressed Wise to make him Vice-Captain. Now all he has to do is prove to us this season that he's a player who shows loyalty to the club, fans etc.

This is only the beginning - you can't beat alcoholism - there is no such thing as an ex-Alcoholic.

He needs support, which Wise is giving him (and wanker AK didn't) and will continue to need that through the season, especially if he gets a barren scoring period or something

Alcoholism is a dependency on alcohol. If you are no longer dependent on alcohol then you no longer have alcoholism. That doesn't mean you never want a drink again, you're just not dependent on it.

No.  Alcoholism is an addiction, not a dependancy.
