some time after 6pm.
Reports I am getting from friends in Italy are that Juve, Lazio and Fiorentina are all being relegated and points deducted. JUVE getting a 20 point deduction! Milan stay up but with a 10-15 point deduction.

I got this:
The Italian media is reporting that Juventus will be relegated in the wake of the match-fixing scandal that has rocked the country.
The reports currently circulating suggest Juventus, the country's most famous club, will be be playing in Serie B next season, with a 15-point deduction.
Two other clubs, Fiorentina and Lazio, are also set share the same fate.
The Italian press also claims that AC Milan will not be relegated, but like Juventus and Fiorentina, will be barred from competing in next season's Champions League competition.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has confirmed the verdicts of the match-fixing trial involving Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio will be announced this evening.
The announcement regarding the fate of the Serie A clubs, as well as the 25 people under investigation, will be read by the Federal Appeals Commission president Cesare Ruperto in Rome's Parco dei Principi hotel.
Television broadcasters and radio stations will not be allowed to transmit the verdict live.
If the reports are correct, a whole host of top Italian talent could be up for sale, including World Cup winners Fabio Cannavaro and Alessandro Del Piero.
French World Cup final stars Patrick Viera and David Trezeguet have have been linked with Manchester United, while Lilian Thuram could link up again with his old boss Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Think its a major shame that a country wins the world cup with all their players playing in their own league, yet withing weeks of it they will all be buggering off elsewhere

Once again it is the big clubs that get screwed over while the little clubs get away with a fine and slapped, oh, um, er.
In all honesty if that sentance is passed because they are guilty then I guess it is fair. They cheated, they get relagated. To do otherwise would make it look as though cheats do indeed prosper, thus calling my mum a liar and forcing me to go over and headbutt them for the insult.

It is a shame but I think if they have been cheating then they deserve to be punished strictly. It ruins the game, whats the point in turning up as a fan of the other teams if the big guns are getting away with match-fixing?

It did spur them on a bit, but they were already a good team before the tourney and were more willing to go for more goals rather than kill off games

I dont agree with this. not sure if you're referring to all countries because look at what happened to us and we are a relatively small club when we were demoted. however, forest did a similar thing recently and only got a fine. The big premiership clubs I feel also get off a lot more lightly in comparison to the smaller clubs. I don't feel that the punishments are of equal proportion.

I assume your irony detector is malfunctioning then? Or perhaps you don't have one

Juve docked 30 points, relegated and stripped of recent titles.

milan stay in serie a but deducted 15 points. Both fiorentina and lazio have been relegated to serie b with the viola getting a 15 points deduction and lazio 7 points deducted.
Get in.
now roma have a chance for next season.
