depends what you mean by recovered.  He'll battle against the drink for the reast of his life most likely, but he's been dry since January.  In terms of fitness, he should be up to the same level as everyone else now, which is probably well ahead of his level of fitness this time last year.

Provided he has the right support and is determined himself to turn things around, then he should be fit to play.

when i say recovered i mean mentally. has he got the mental strengh to be a good player again? sometimes players can be affected after long injury lay-offs or personal problems like Roberts and despite being match-fit never recover on the mental side of things. let's hope Roberts does not fall into that bracket

i'm torn over roberts.

is it true that the club told him when he came back from rehab that he'd be given a fresh start this season, which is why he wasn't involved much in the latter part of last season? if so, then that's fair enough and i'm willing to give him another chance and i feel quite positive about him coming good.

he's not going to be a 20 goals a season striker, never has been, never will be, but he will cause problems and create chances for others when he's fit and on form. if he's off the booze then he'll come good, i'm sure of it.
