Paul leftie d socks it to the man! Bollocks! I should have known you'd have said that. C'mon even the Daily Mail were laying into Thames Water's management last week, it's all the rage this summer! Although, in retrospect that might have been just cos they're German.

Erm, Thames Water's management that is, not the Daily Mail. They were only pro-German in the 30s

Yes, we held one deliberately while you were away and voted to form a posse to tar and feather you and run you out of town. But on a tractor, so it's not all bad

Actually, the AGM was supposed to be early June but we were hoping to arrange a convenient time for BP to be able to attend. That proved difficult to arrange, the World Cup happened (strangely we didn't fancy going head to head with any of the games) etc etc. Cut a long story short, it's now on Monday July 24th, 7.30, Holiday Inn at Coate, non-members welcome. Letters gone out/going out to members over the weekend - assuming Royal Mail can be arsed to deliver them, of course. See how I brought that nicely back on topic?

Didn't you all get a nice little bonus a few weeks ago and saying how great it was. You gotta take the rough with the smooth. Yes but that doesnt compensate for the fact that they're on about cutting 30,000-40,000 jobs.

I've said for a number of years that that all public service companies should be taxed heavily on profits unless they are providing the service expected of them.
If Thames water made say 900 million pounds and the cost of repairing all water pipes was 300 million then they should be taxed (or fined) £300 million to pay for the repairs - if everything works OK then I'm happy for them to make a profit.
As well as this there should be a cap on charges for the services so if they still made 600 million profit then an additional 10% (60 Million) should be put towards reducing bills in the next fiscal year.
I know it will probably never happen but thats my view on it :fu:

... i had a verbal agreement with the current mail centre manager ... Sorry but verbal agreements aren't worth squat, you should know that! If it ain't in black and white it doesn't count! Unless they've asked you to do summat that's outside the terms and considitons of your contract there's not really much anyone can do about it.
