He has 2 years ncb and he's 20 iirc.
A 172 Insurance quote would be high, but not ridiculous.
Their group 16 insurance. My CTR is group 17 and i pay £1100. Thats 24 years old, parked on drive, 4 ncb.
End of the day, it's what he can afford.
I suggested the 172 cos of it's immense pace and superb handling. He would love it.

the 172 looks fucking awesome but it's well beyond my means i think, the insurance would absolutely murder me.
group 11/12 is probably my maximum in fairness.

How about 106 GTi?
Very fun little cars and can be had for peanuts now.
Insurance group is 13.

I've never understood the need for a Fireball XL5 or a Turbo Nutter Bastard car. For me the car that gets me from A to B most cheaply and in most comfort has to be king !
NMH I like the sound of a Tubo Nutter Bastard

I've completely lost all interest in cars apart from how much they'll cost me to run!
I often sit back and wonder why I went for bigger family car when it costs me twice as much to run a year, kids!

how much were you selling the pug for without the plate, stfcfan? carver - the clio shall be part-exchanged, doubt it'll last much longer really. i've ragged the fuck out of it for the best part of 2 years. i keep having visions of myself driving the xj6 into college

Whits has hit the nail on the head there. Doesn't have to be travelling but there must be better ways to spend that kind of money than on a hunk of depreciating metal.
[there I go again]

i don't have £5k to spend as i want, sadly, as the 'rents have designated it as car money.
otherwise i'd be dropping out of college, making like a tampon and getting out of this bleeding hole.
