The problem is it wasnt the whole club it was just one businessman owner who did it.

And imho it will never happen again cos the League wont allow it and fans are much more switched on to matters now and can mobilise better than the Wimbledon lot did years ago.  They just sat on their hands at the time and shouldn't be surprised that they lost their club - and I got that from a long-standing Wimbledon fan I used to work with.

It’s now against the League regulations so it will never happen again.

Good to still see them treated as the lepers they are and it can’t be long before the meet AFC in passing.

Who are the lepers?  The fans?  MK council?  Winkelman and his Board?

good,i hate them and what they did was an absolute disgrace.

I disagree. You can't blame the Dons for moving. They had been trying for years to sort out a ground in their own borough but Merton Borough Council simply wouldn't play ball. I think the club did everything possible to try to return to their home borough but in the end it was impossible to carry on as a viable club without making the move to MK.

How would you feel if Swindon Town had to move out of the borough because the council wouldn't agree to a new ground? Would you stop supporting Town? Would you say that we too had become a franchise?

It's interesting too that even AFC Wimbledon, the club formed to carry the name of the borough, doesn't play in the borough either (they play in Kingston). Would you call them a franchise too?

It’s clearly not the same club anymore though is it?

You only have to look at the club’s crest to confirm that even Franchise themselves have little or no desire to have a continuing association with Wimbledon.

A club is built on its fans.  They are the lifeblood of any club and in turn the majority go on to represent the people in the club’s catchment area and provide a continuous link from past to present.

Comparing the distances between Kingston and Milton Keynes is pushing it a bit as well Dorset.   Shocked  A few clubs play outside of their Borough now most by necessity but comparing 60 miles to 4 makes it a bit of a non-starter really.  Like most clubs outside of their Borough Kingston was a necessity driven by the need for a viable ground.

I’m not so much arsed with the way Wimbledon FC was effectively stolen.  They would have struggled to continue playing much longer but that doesn’t mean that Winkleman should effectively been allowed to purchase a league place as a vessel to develop a supermarket.

To be honest I don’t have much time for their fans either.  Fair enough with the youngsters experiencing their first taste of league football but I can’t see how several thousand grown men have all of a sudden decided to support a football team out of the blue.

I’m not sure what’s worse the fact that they have decided to ditch the club they previously supported, supporting two clubs or not bothering to back the original Milton Keynes football club in the first place!

Agree with that completely, dazzza.  They hardly make me froth at the mouth, yet it will be a glorious day should they ever fold.  My dad's from Wimbledon and he's never seemed particularly bothered about it, just thinks it's a remarkable story when you consider the rise of the club in the first place before all this happened.  He's Fulham anyway though, so I suppose he wouldn't be that bothered.

I'm not sure yet actually, it was completed while I was away I think, and since I've been back I've not been able to have a go due to my back.

I will have a go later in the summer though, so I'll let you know.
