I was suprised to hear this is their first WC appearance, but I suppose forming in '93 only gave them 2 chances- 98 and 02- to get in prior to this.

They love their football. Come close to the Thais and Danish when it comes to knowing their English footy.
Started talking to a bar man New Years and he knew half of our squad, where we were in the League and even claimed to follow Tranmere on the side.

Czechs looked good, got to bear in mind the USA didn't look great, will be interesting to see Czech vs Italy...
Their midfield is class, Rosicky and Nedved look good together.

They were in it quite a few times as Czechoslovakia though. The vast majority of their players always came from the Czech part of the country rather than Slovakia and they wear the same colours as when they were Czechozlovakia. They were even European Champions in 1976 (the first penalty shoot out I ever saw :shock: ). So they have quite a good track record really. I thought they were easily the best team in Euro 2004 and it looks like Wenger has signed another gem with this Rosicky geezer. |
