Ok; I'm going next Monday (12th) so I'm after any tips from people who've been recently.

I guess there's the obvious ones like go to the big rides early or late on; I've heard you can get tickets which get you to the front of the queue?

Also; any rides which are worth going on again and again; and worth avoiding?

All tips gratefully received.

Depends which fast track ones you mean... the 'free' ones where you put your ticket in the machine and it prints you a time to come back- ususally break down or gove you crap overlapping times, its worth paying for the upgrade on the day which gives you 6 fast tracks for all the main rides. it's a card with all the main rides and they just tick it off when you use it on each ride. Also you can rub the pen off and use it again.

Oblivion, Nemesis and the Pinball are fucking mint, Air's a bit of a let down, the old school Corkscrew one is great, the Boneshaker will actually put your back out.

I know it's a cliche but be prepared to queue, take some wet weather gear and do the log flume, it lasts ages and its always a quick wait but you get proper soaked.

Oh and as tame as it looks, don't visit the Maccy D stand by the banana boat and then tackle the said boat, seriously my mate Ginty plastered the kids in front of us.

Enjoy.

Cheers for all that. I will definately get myself one of those fast track cards; worth paying for to get on the rides quicker.

Don't mind the queueing; will be there for 10 and got till 7.30 (i think it closes then) so got a long time in there. Hopefully it will be like this weekend; hot and sunny so I don't mind getting wet on the log flume then; will cool me down.

And thanks; I will avoid the Banana Boat thing!

Oh. and has anyone been on Rita yet; I heard it's 0-100 in 2.5 seconds!

Tie your shoes tightly/take them off for Nemesis. The back flip bit leads down over this pool of water thats litter with shoes  Cool

I won't be making that mistake don't worry (he hopes!)

My friend I'm going with has already warned me about things I need to do. Wearing my combats with zipped pocket which will contain my keys/money/credit card/phone etc. It will be zipped very tightly trust me.

I went a few years ago and the only ride I enjoyed was the oblivion.  I love the way it holds you just long enough at the top for you to regret getting on, before it drops you.

You have got to try "Rita Queen of speed" fucking awesome ride ! We went about 3 weeks ago and didnt have to wait more then 5 minutes for any ride , dont bother with Charlie and the Chocolate factory ,it was shite  Crying  .  Oblivion is just heart stopping but well worth it .

i went up to alton towers on 15th May and the place was dead.
best time to go is when the kids are at skool etc.

Also remember on some of the big rides to look out for the single riders queue. if you don't mind where you sit or if you sit on your own etc then it's well worth it and it cuts out a good 90% of queueing time.

I also wouldn't bother with the cork screw. biggest pile of shit there. sooner they pull it down the better.

also have you got your sun 2 for 1 offer??

if not i can post some to you (i think we still have some)

Thanks Magic; I have a Woolworths 2 for 1 offer so I'm ok there but cheers for the offer.

As kids are off next Monday then I'm hoping it won't be too busy; going to buy those tickets which get you to the front quicker though if it's busy.

Will avoid the Corkscrew then! Looking forward to Rita  Cool

If it's still there, don't go on the Charlie And The Chocolate Facotry ride as it is pants.

Had a fantastic day yesterday; was sunny and warm for most of the day.

Was there by 9.30; straight on to Air; I liked that. No queues at all in the morning so by 10.30 had done Air; Nemesis; Ripsaw; Oblivion twice and two other rides I can't remember what they were called.

Rita; wow. I have never moved so fast in my life; that was fantastic.

Finished off with Air again just before the place closed. Was peeing down then; so got absolutely soaked when it turned us upside down 3 times.

Fantastic day.

And yes Sussex; the tea cup ride is still there; didn't go on it though!
