Shevchenko was the 2004 world player of they year so in theory he should be much better than Crespo or Morientes.

Chelsea seem to be getting in a lot of old highly paid players though and it remains to be seen if it'll work or they'll just have a team full of overpaid overrated big names like Real Madrid. Shevchenko and Ballack are fair enough but fuck knows why they want Carlos.

Sense of humour missing is it? Yes we have found an extra few thousand fans this season but thats what success brings. As for the signature of course i know that Elm Lane was the home of Reading F.C before the Madejski Soapy Tit Wank

I will never foget or ignore our history. I know that we are punching well above our weight at the moment but that doesnt stop me remembering old 3rd and 4th division games at Elm Park. My opinion on the Madejski is that it will never replace Elm Park in my heart. Atmospheres just not the same - i dont like seating full stop.
I am just going to enjoy the Premership next season because i know our visit may be a brief one - I am sure you would do the same Wink

We did a few years ago !

Remember going to Elm Park for Boxing Day 1987. All I remember was being bloody cold and the loos being disgusting ! Didn't remember the score until I just looked it up (1-0 Quinn). Remember we had a goalkeeper on loan - was it Dearden ? (Edit: No it was Paul Crichton)

I remember going to the County Ground the same season! Dad took me to my first away game and we lost 4-0 in think! Sad  It was only about 4 games into the season and for an 11 year old it was hard to take Crying
