I have just had a call from my managing director to inform me that as from next year the vehicle van on tax is going up to the same as a car! Bastards! That means I pay £500 a year at the moment, and its going upto £3500! I've told my boss that I'm not going to use the van after work hours now and just keep at my house.

Grrr........f'in govenment!

The government have also from this septemeber stopped agents keeping deposits in their own accounts.  It now has to be paid into a central government account and the agents no longer get interest on that money.  Any letting agent that has 200 house keeping a deposit on each house will lose between £3,000 - £7,000 per year depending on the account.

Another indirect tax.

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vans/van-facts.htm

the amount included in your tax code for the van and fuel is £3k + £500 and the tax is £660 for the van and £110 for fuel

if you dont use it for private trips you dont have to pay the £500 tax at all anymore

so you'll be saving £500  Cheesy

No  Smiley

Performance car lovers shouldn't be victimised. Car tax should go on amount of miles you do.
