in our matday prog. on saturday. thought these 2 snippets might interest/annoy you:

If Swindon Town offered to double your wages tomorrow, would you go back?

"No. There was a lot written about the move and I don't want to talk about it too much but the decision was made on principle rather than for financial reasons. In fact, on the morning that I signed for Oxford Swindon actually offered me more money to sign for them, but my decision had been made and after some of the things that had gone on I had no doubts this was the right move."

What's the favourite song you've heard sung about you?

"I've been really lucky everywhere I've been that the fans have been very good with me. They have always been very kind although I'm sure there's a terrible one waiting for me when I go back to Swindon."

nobody was blasting them in under rix, but he had a stormer on saturday and scored a beauty against yeovil the other week from about 30 yards into the top corner. he's on 8 and i'd expect that to be near 20 by the end of the season on our current form.

Like a dwarf awaking from a coma the Oxford are begininning to find their voices after3 semi decent results.  Mooney's passed it at this level, if you came up he'd struggle to score 5 next season.  There's a lot of footie to be played before then.

Also even the most stupid of footballer wouldn't have answered the above question yes would he?  Would you go back to our rivals if they offered you more money, yes err I mean no.  What a shit question.  Were these children asking him these questions?

I honestly think we don't miss Mooney at all, don't think he'd have got into double figures for us this season. We do miss his leadership on the pitch though, sort of.

By the way, that sounds as if he's trying to make himself out to be hard done by. He stated the reason he left as being because we verbally offered him one deal then gave him a much lower one.

He was never going to say "Yes Id go back like a shot" though was he?

Good luck to him its old news Ive moved on,he's moved on .I honestly think he's been missed this year both through his goals and also his leadership.Anyone who says different is deluded and just saying it because he went to Oxford.

Im sure Christian Roberts will prove a excellent replacement in the long term.

clear pen. right in front of the OM stand, mooney with back to goal. defender the wrong side of him. keeper came out and took a wild swipe of the arm at the ball but got the moonster.

bradbury put the pen in the bottom right, and the 'keeper saved. but he had encroached, so it was re-taken straight down the middle for 1-0.

one other interesting thing about the whole mooney saga is that you lot seemed to have been told he could only play 1 match per week. when he signed here, he was keen to point out that it wasn't true and king only said it so that he could rotate mooney with fallon. mooney's showing no signs of fatigue and plays ever week.
