Watched it last night, thought it was a good film, certainly a bit different.

Anyway my housemate Claire though Jay & Silent Bob did the song because I got high. A quick memory inspired and internet researched moment did show that they were in the video, but still how can you not know that it was Afroman?

Claire confused the hell out of me to be honest, I wasn't really in a state of mind to discuss the stroryline and Afroman at the same time.

"No ticket."

I'm going through a bit of a Kevin Smith phase lately, first saw Dogma, then Mallrats (snoochy boochies!) and am trying to see Chasing Amy and Clerks. Difficult to get hold of on the bittorent sites I use.

Anyway, yeah., obviously Jay & Silent Bob couldn't have sung it. For one thing half the partnership is silent!

Exactly, which is what I was trying to say. I got really confused because obviously Jay looks nothing like Afroman either!

I really want to see the other films as well now. First time I saw Dogma was last night and I've only seen Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back otherwise.

Clerks is a good bet as is Chasing Amy if you're into your flicks for chicks.

Kevin Smith is a legend, although I will admit (and he does himself) that he is a much better writer than director.  The "New Jersey Films" (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) are his best films.  Jersey Girl is also a good film which was unfairly reviewed because of the "Benifer" (Ben Affleck and J-lo) factor.
If you are a fan of Kevin (aka Silent Bob) you should check out his short run he did writing on the daredevil comic (he's also done Spiderman, and the Green Lanton), also his book "Silent Bob Speaks" is very good, which has lots of revealing inside info on such thing as why Reese Witherspoon is such a cunt.  His dvd "An Evening With Kevin Smith" is also ace and very, very funny.  And on top of all this, "Clerks 2 - Passion Of The Clerks" is out later this year.  Last but not least, if you are a fan you should check out www.viewaskew.com (his web site), or www.moviepoopshute.com (as featured in Jay and Silent Bob..)
If you were wondering, yes I do know where he lives, and yes there is a restraining order in place.

Dogma is ace. Chasing Amy is ok, would be better but from what I remember ditches any subtlety in the relationships.

Sure I'll get round to the rest of the films someday. Think I've seen clerks and mallrats when I've been hammered, but they didn't stand out enough to stick in my mind.
