Chelsea have unveiled Germany captain Michael Ballack as their first signing of the summer.
The 29-year-old midfielder has arrived on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Bayern Munich.
Ballack was also coveted by Manchester United but chose to join Chelsea and has signed a three-year-deal. Questions over where they're going to play him but by Christ the below looks a bit formidable http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41410000/gif/_41410875_chelsea_06_team_203.gif

It does indeed. You could put Nicholas and Gurney in the two new signing bits and it would still be an ace team

I think he'll be a hit but at £130k a week he should be!!
That amount of money is ridiculous. It'll take Us mere mortals years and years to earn that amount of money... :x

Midfielder overload at Chelski continues. I'm just pleased their best 3 players are English.
Nice to see them wasting vast amounts of cash though... what do you think they'll recoup on SWP, 8 million tops?

Think he would have made a much better decision by going to United really, as their midfield is crying out for a player like him. Still think he'll do well.

That amount of money is ridiculous. It'll take Us mere mortals years and years to earn that amount of money... :x It would take me over four years to earn what he supposedly earns in a week, before Mr Taxman gets his hands on it. For what - kicking a pig bag around a fucking field? Clearly it would take all you sponging students far more years to earn this amount of money. I'd like to personally ask Mr Ballack exactly what qualifies him to earn such an outrageous wage, given I spent 4 years at college getting qualified and have 14 years of practical experience in earning my pittance of a wage. Maybe Mr Abramovich could take over the Government, and then he can pay me what I'm really worth. Vote Abramovich for Prime Minister. Then he can pay me what I'm really worth - the square root of fuck all! Before anyone else says it.FWIW, I voted Hit, although that midfield doesn't offer much width.

Ballack will replace either Makelele (with Essien dropping deep) or Essien himself, shevchenko up front, with the regular wing setup remaining surely?

Ballack said he'd had a chat to Hoof and Lehman, about England and he'd heard good things, so thought he'd grace us with his presence. Don't suppose the 130K a week came into it

Seems odd that Huth would recommend going to Chelsea, given he's a German international who can't get a game. Maybe that's what he likes.
