I'm glad that Iffy appears to have made it clear to the players that they must make decisions now rather than later.  Thats exactly what he needs to do.

Wouldn't be surprised if Migz goes back to America & plays in the MLS. He's getting married out there in the summer so will probably stay closer to family.

I really hope we don't sign McPhee, he hasn't looked like scoring at all.

Not too worried about the 'keeper situation, there are always loads released in the summer by Prem clubs. If not then we could get one on a season long loan or something.

Yes Yep, get it sorted out now,so at least Iffy can make other plans and bring in more players if needs be.

Length of contract with Evans might be because of his hints at not liking the prospect of League 2 next season. He might not be very happy to sign a long contract with us being in the bottom league.

Offering him one year is a nonsense, if he signed and we had a nothing season next year(obviously a distinct possibility), then he would find himself in a much worse position than he is currently.  Hopefully they've offered him two years today, then at least he'll have a proper chance to decide whether he really wants to be here.

Migs I feel needed to go, which is a shame after his first two seasons.  He eventually became the injury-prone player we were worried he was when he first signed.

I'm happy migz is going, it's for the best really as he can go on and play for another club which he might do well at. I'm shocked that Laphams going as i always rated him, were going to need another GK and LM as Buleman and Nicolau is going. Henry and Stroud should have the same as Holgate and Taylor but we don't know why the club has done what they've done. Whats the situation with Caton and Lucas J, are they going or staying?

I think Caton & Jutkiewicz still have a year or 2 to go on their youth contract

Looks like Evans has been given more than 1 year - 18 month?

overall then...

signed new contracts:
Jerel Ifil
Jack Smith
Michael Pook
Charlie Comyn-Platt
Ashan Holgate
Ben Wells
Leigh Henry - 6 month deal
David Stroud - 6 month deal

offered new deals:
Rhys Evans - unlikely to stay as unwilling to play in L2
Sean O'Hanlon - will stay unless gets a better offer
Steve Jenkins - set to sign
Andy Nicholas - seems to be delaying signing, perhaps hoping for his 'big' move?
Paul Smith - likely to remain at the club

existing deals:
Andy Gurney
Jamie Cureton - too big for the club/too good for L2
Aaron Brown - as above
Lee Peacock - unlikely to go anywhere
Gareth Whalley - keen to stay at the club
Christian Roberts - providing he stays sober

loan players:
Chris McPhee - may be offered a deal, Iffy will probably look at his other options first
Trevor Benjamin - career change to bicycle courier
Toumani Diagouraga - playing for Watford in the Premiership next season?

released:
Stefani Miglioranzi
Nicky Nicolau
Matt Bulman
Kyle Lapham
Chris Taylor

Still no idea about Shakes though.

Taking the above into account and assuming all the players offered a contract accept the terms offered, this will be our squad - minus any new signings - for next season.

GK:
Evans

Defenders:
Ifil, J Smith, Comyn-Platt, Gurney, O'Hanlon, Nicholas, Jenkins, Henry (youth)

Midfielders:
Pook, Whalley, Brown, P Smith, Stroud (youth), Wells (youth)

Strikers:
Cureton, Peacock, Roberts, Holgate (youth)

Far too many of the current squad if you ask me, out of that lot I'd only keep Evans, Comyn-Platt, Whalley, P Smith and Peacock.

Time to get Tom Heaton back on a permanent basis,he's currently 5th choice at OT

Good God NO! :jaw2:

What was his record? 39 goals conceded in 19 games and just 1 (or was it 2) clean sheet!!!!!!!!!? Compare that with Rhys's 31 goals in 31 games.
Why on earth do you want a second rate keeper? Let's go out and spend a little money to get a good one!

Getting rid of Migz = big mistake..

Our best midfielder and the only one who can pass the fucking thing. Also gets stuck in alot more than people give him credit for.

Mistake....big mistake.....not happy with that, at all

Shit defence in front of him.Showed good potential in my opinion and Rhys goals against column aint none too impressive. And what are the chances of us getting a really"good one"?
