to play the krauts in the second round, we'd have to finish second in our group and germany top it or vice versa. it's fairly likely we'd both top our groups though.

I can see Sweden topping our group, their record against England in recent years speaks for itself.

Likely outcome for me is a draw with it all coming down to GD and how many either side hammers past T&T.

Germans should easily top their group but aren’t looking that good overall.  Penalties beckons in the 2nd round and out we go.

That’s the prediction I came up with after the draw and I’m seriously tempted to wager some cash on it I’m that confident it’s a strong possibility.

sweden are more or less a one man team with ibrahimovic, but they're a decent shout for finishing top.

i just think we'll top our group, raise expectations, then crash out miserably in the second round.

Larson's still playing as werll isnt he? and Ljungberg's a good player. Ibrahimovic was utter shite in both games v the arse

Depends how the draw pans out, it's possible we could get lucky like Germany in 2002 and play 2nd rate teams all the way to the final. Although being England we'll probably draw a massive team in the early knockout stages, play well and lose on penalties

My opinion is definitely based on optimism, certainly not very realistic at all but beating the Krauts at a later stage in the competition is far more appealing to me.....especially in their own country.  I can definitely see us coming up against them earlier rather than later.

They’ve a storming keeper in that Isssaksson (sp) and Ibrahimovic Larsson and the bender Ljungberg are not a bad combo going forward.

Ljunberg in particular I suspect could be one of those players that have a fairly anonymous domestic season and then go onto set the world cup alight.  Baros Euro 2004 style

don't know if larsson is still playing at itnernational level or not, he's certainly getting on a bit though.

ljungberg isn't half the player he was.

I think we'll finish second in our group, beat Germany in the second round, and then crash out to whoever we get next.

I think we will do okay and then be really unlucky to lose to a decent team, penalties maybe but not sure
